Petr Šíma, the well-known head chef from the popular TV programme *Kluci v akci*, will be joining us on our rooftop to prepare a special menu inspired by the TV show.
You can look forward to some delicious treats prepared by an experienced head chef, fascinating behind-the-scenes stories from the filming, a book signing, and the chance to buy the new *Kluky v akci* cookbook.
And because good food can help, all proceeds from the refreshments will be donated to a charity in aid of little Debora, who is ill (see below for more details).
Guitarist Vít Brabec – also known as Brabčí hnízdo – will be playing to create a cosy atmosphere.
Come and enjoy a day full of wonderful flavours, inspiration and good cheer – whilst supporting a good cause. ❤️

A charity event for Deborka
Due to Covid and Help syndrome, Deborka was born in the 28th week of pregnancy and is the first baby born with Covid in Europe to have survived. As a result of the premature birth, Deborka suffered seizures and severe grade 3 and 4 haemorrhages in her brain. On the third day after her birth, we were told to prepare for the worst. In the end, Deborka pulled through and, after 14 days, underwent her first operation, followed by 1–2 lumbar punctures a day (they had to drain the cerebrospinal fluid so that it wouldn’t put pressure on her brain and cause further damage) as required. She also had serious problems with feeding, which meant she was on a central line for a long time and was at risk of infection. After 100 days, we were finally discharged home, but we had to return to hospital, followed by another operation. During this, a VP shunt was fitted. Some time later, she was diagnosed with grade 1 cerebral palsy.
Deborka is making great progress now. Her motor skills have improved and she’s speaking better. On 16 October 2024, at the age of three and a quarter, she made the greatest progress we could have hoped for: she started walking.
We still go to the spa in Klimkovice twice a year for a month, where she does intensive exercise. She has 6–7 treatments a day. We’ve recently started paying extra for the more intensive Reha Motion programme, which involves a full hour with a therapist instead of half an hour.
Throughout the year, she attends exercise sessions at Balanc Therapy 3–4 times a week.
These include occupational therapy, physiotherapy and sensory integration. Deborka really enjoys these therapies and always looks forward to them. This programme is very comprehensive; it aims to improve her gait, correct her posture and address her flat feet, as well as helping her to get dressed, put on her shoes and perform other everyday tasks.
We still go to Borovany once every 14 days for physiotherapy; these are the only sessions covered by insurance. Here, they focus more on his legs (valgus ankles and walking on the tips of his left foot); we also discuss orthopaedic aids with them (shoe insoles and braces – these are not covered).
Every day, she wears inflatable braces for an hour and a half to two hours (depending on how she gets on), which also help with stretching. We also try to do as many exercises with her as possible at home.
As well as doing exercises, we are still under medical supervision in the neurology, ophthalmology and endocrinology departments. A counsellor from Early Care visits us.
We’re doing our best to ensure that Deborka’s health-related challenges are kept to a minimum. Our latest major achievement is that she’s now nappy-free both during the day and at night. Unfortunately, she’ll need further operations in the future, but we hope there will be as few as possible.
